Kapurthala , November 19: The President of Sharomani Akali Dal and Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today said that the conspiracy in the form of “Sarbat Khalsa” performed by the radical forces with the backing of congress was behind the unrest in the state and Sharomani Akali Dal would leave no stone unturned to defeat these anti Punjab forces.
Today addressing the mammoth gathering at Kapurthala by the Sharomani Akali Dal Kapurthala unit here , Mr. Badal said that the Congress leader Captain Amrinder Singh call for proposed grand alliance would not change the fortune of congress in the Punjab as the people of the state wants peace and development .
Daring Captain Amrinder Singh to come clean on the direct involvement of congress leaders from Majha region in the Sarbat Khalsa, Mr. Badal said that the single agenda of the Punjab congress was to derail the development prospects of Punjab to attain the political mileage. He said that “it was only the congress who always tried to tear down the rich Sikh institutions like SGPC and Sri Akal Takhat Sahib but the people of Punjab have always given them befitting reply by rejecting their anti Punjab policies which they adopted at the behest of congress high command in Delhi”.
He said that “Akali Dal was the second oldest political party of the country who always stood for the cause of Punjabi people, whether it was war for independence or war against emergency”.
Calling the akali workers to disseminate the development and people friendly initiatives of Punjab Government to the masses ,he announced that the the next one year would be the “Year of Development and employment as at the one hand the Punjab Government would fill more than one lakh posts besides generating direct employment for more than 3 lakh youth with the investment of Rs. 1 Lakh crore.
The SAD President has also called the people to participate in the “Sadbhawna Rally” at Jalandhar on December 4 as these rallies would show that the Punjabis are united against the anti Punjab forces.
The Prominent amongst present in the rally included Former Minister Dr. Upinderjit kaur and Bibi Jagir Kaur, Chairman MARFED Jarnail Singh Wahid, Chairman District Planning board Sarbjit Singh Makkar, Chairman Zila Parishad Yuvraj Bhupinder Singh, SGPC Members Sarvan Singh Kular and Gurpreet Kaur Roohi.
