MONTREAL — Justin Trudeau cast his vote today in Montreal as the Liberal leader aims to become the first politician in federal history to lead his party from third place to the seat of power.
With his wife and kids in tow, Trudeau arrived at Casa d’Italia, an Italian-Canadian cultural centre that served as a polling station in his riding of Papineau, cradling his one-year-old son Hadrien in his arms.
After voting, he walked onto his campaign bus parked nearby, trailed by a phalanx of cameras and smartphone-toting onlookers.
Following final campaign stops in British Columbia the day before, Trudeau, 43, touched down in Montreal early Monday morning.
He posed for photos with campaign workers outside his plane, at times hamming it up with them.
