California Eagles leapfrogged Punjab Thunder in the points table after beating them 67-45 in a Wave World Kabaddi League encounter here Saturday.
After the win, California Eagles join Vancouver Lions and Yo Yo Tigers on eight points.
Punjab Thunder chose to raid first after winning the toss.
Both teams attacked with great fervour and converted most of their raids. There was nothing separate the two at the end of the first quarter as it ended 13-13.
Jagmohan and Sukhpal were the top raiders for California Eagles with three raids each and Mikhail Jamaal was the top stopper for the team.
Sultan Singh and Talwinder Singh were the top raiders for Punjab Thunder with three and four raids respectively. Sukhpal converted seven raids and was once again the top performers for the Eagles as they took a 32-24 lead.
California Eagles only got stronger in the third quarter and extended their lead to 50-35 by the end of the third quarter.
They were once again the dominant team in the final quarter and again outscored their opponents to finish the match 67-45.
