Toronto : -Police say they have identified an Uber driver wanted in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a female passenger.
According to police, the incident occurred on Sept. 15 when a 25-year-old woman got into an Uber vehicle near Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue.
Police allege that the Uber driver took the woman to her home in the area of Lawrence Avenue West and Avenue Road and sexually assaulted her inside the vehicle.

The suspect has now been identified by police as Amritpal Singh, 21.
Police say he may be driving a 2014 black Chevrolet Cruz with the licence plate number BWMA 171.
In a statement released last week, Uber spokesperson Xavier Van Chau called the allegations “disturbing.”
“We immediately removed the driver from our platform and have reached out to law enforcement to assist in any way that we can,” Chau added.
Police ask anyone with information about the case to contact investigators at 416-808-3200 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
