Chief Secretary conducts surprise checks

Chandigarh, Chief Secretary, Punjab Mr. Sarvesh Kaushal today conducted surprise checks at Mini Secretariat (Sub Divisional complex), Rajpura. He first conducted the check at S.D.M. Office. There, the whole staff was found to be present. Then, the registration room at Tehsil office was inspected. The Tehsildar was present. On being asked about the number of wasikas, he said that daily 10-12 wasikas are registered. But till that time no wasika was registered. The public present there also expressed satisfaction at the working. Then, the register in the room of registry clerk was checked. Afterwards, the reader of tehsildar was asked about the cause list of court cases and pending cases. At tehsil office, Rajpura members of the public were asked whether they faced any problems. All expressed satisfaction. Even the public present there were asked by the CS if someone want to tell him their problem in a separate room, then they are welcome.

Then, check was conducted at Suwidha Centre, Rajpura. All the employees were found to be present. Chief Secretary enquired from employees about the services being provided at the Suwidha Centre. He also checked entries in the computer with immense precision and found some technical problem with the software which was ordered to be rectified. About the affidavits he learnt that only educational institutions demand affidavits. The chief Secretary then ordered that barring those cases where affidavits are necessary according to law, Government of Punjab has introduced the system of Self declaration. After this the working of Fard Kendra was inspected. All the people present there expressed satisfaction about the working. Then, ASM of Fard Kendra was asked that the record of about how many of the villages in Rajpura is available on-line. The pendency of work at Fard Kendra was almost negligible. The duty Patwari was instructed that in future the signatures are to be made in Black ink in bold letters so that they should be read easily. The Sarpanch of Village Kullar narrated her tale of woe and BDO, Rajpura was immediately called and instructed to address her grievances at the earliest and inform accordingly. Some Press Correspondents were also present and apprised the CS that Food Supply wing is not giving proper attention to the Ration Depots and public was facing immense problems. The DC, Patiala was instructed to inquire about this. The CS also checked the Transport Counter.
