AMBASSADOR OF AFGHANISTAN CALLS ON PUNJAB GOVERNOR

CHANDIGARH, AUGUST 24: Mr. Shaida Mohammad Abdali Afghanistan Ambassador to India today called on Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki the Governor of Haryana, Punjab and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh at Haryana Raj Bhavan.

Discussing various issues at length, Prof. Solanki said India enjoys mature bilateral relations and strong socio-cultural linkages with Afghanistan.

Interacting with Governor Punjab, Mr. Shaida Mohammad Abdali briefed Prof. Solanki on the current economic cooperation between Afghanistan and India and the potentials for increased trade possessed by the two countries.

Prof. Solanki said that Punjab has achieved a major breakthrough in the agriculture sector and allied fields and state of Punjab is emerging as a progressive and vibrant investment destination. The State Government has evolved a responsive mechanism and coordinate farm our ventures and agri-related activities in close coordination with the scientific community of Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana.

Prof. Solanki said that India’s economic capability is growing at a faster pace. It has enormous dynamism and potential. He said that there was a major scope to further expand economic & business cooperation in wide range of fields like Information Technology, marketing of agriculture produce, sharing of educational tools & technologies, which can be of immense mutual benefit of people on both sides.

Interacting with Governor Punjab, Mr. Shaida Mohammad Abdali briefed Prof. Solanki on the current economic cooperation between Afghanistan and India and the potentials for increased trade possessed by the two countries.

Ambassador Abdali, thanked the Governor for his enthusiasm and support for cooperation.

Prominent amongst others present in the meeting included Mr. M.P. Singh, Principal Secretary to Governor and Sayed Mujtaba Ahmadi, Economic Counselor, Afghanistan.
