Talwandi Sabo, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Baljinder Kaur today alleged that a second survey had been conducted for a railway track in Talwandi Sabo to change its route only to ensure that the solar power plant of a private company is not dislocated.
She said the new diversion would affect agricultural land. The AAP leader accused the SAD-BJP of working against farmers’ interests and extended support to farmers.
On the other hand, Talwandi Sabo MLA Jeetmohinder assured the farmers of help by taking up the matter with Bathinda MP Harsimrat Badal. Farmers of Bangi, Jajjal, Laleana, Talwandi Sabo, Gurusar Jaga, Jagaram Tirath, Fetehgarh Nauabad, Bhagwanpura, Dhinger, Kamalu, Kotli Sadda Singhwala, Daleyewali, however, have announced to launch a protest. They said the “manipulation” in the first survey for laying a railway line, connecting the five Takhts, would spoil their fertile agricultural land.
“The second survey states that the railway line would pass through our fertile land. This has been done to protect the interests of the private company,” alleged Gurpal Singh, a former panchayat member of Jagaram Tirath village.
