Chandigarh, The Punjab government would soon promote 645 teachers as Headmasters under Promotion quota by 31st October this year.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s office said that direction to this effect was given by the Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal during a meeting with a deputation of Mulazam Wing Punjab led by its President-cum-Chairman Mr. Surinder Singh Pehalwan which called on the Chief Minister here at Punjab Bhawan late last evening concerning their demands.
Responding to their demand for immediately filling up the vacant posts in the Education Department, the Principal Secretary Education apprised the Chief Minister that process to recruit 5078 teachers would be completed by the end of this month.
Regarding the demand for providing registration facility for the Veterinary Inspectors in the state, the Chief Minister asked the Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry to thoroughly examine the case from all aspects especially from legal point of view. However, to make state transport sector far more efficient, the transport department would soon prepare a policy for the recruitment of conductors on contract basis, in a fair and transparent manner, besides inducting new buses in the existing fleet of PUNBUS and PRTC, said the spokesperson.
In response to another demand for regularizing the services of the temporary employees who had completed ten years of service till 2006, the personnel department apprised the Chief Minister that barring two employees rest have been already been regularized as per the policy and even the case of regularizing the services of these two employees were also under process.
The Chief Minister also directed the Chairman PSPCL to hold a separate meeting with the representatives of the association for early solution of the pending demands of employees associations related to power sector amicably.
On this occasion Mulazam Wing (SAD) President Mr. Surinder Singh Pehalwan expressed his gratitude to Mr. Badal for giving a patient hearing to their demands and getting them examined at different quarters.
Prominent amongst those present in the meeting included Advisor to the Chief Minister Mr. Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Chief Secretary Mr. Sarvesh Kaushal, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. SK Sandhu, Principal Secretary Animal Husbandry Mr. G Vajralingam, Principal Secretary Finance Mrs. Vini Mahajan, Principal Secretary Education Mrs. Anjali Bhawra, Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. KJS Cheema, Chairman PSPCL Mr. KD Chaudhary, besides many senior officers of the state government. The Members of the deputation included General Secretary Mr. Harpal Singh Teja, Deputy Secretary Mr. Manjit Singh Chahal, besides members Mr. Karamjit Singh, BS Sekhon, Mr. Gurvel Singh, Mr. Bikkar Singh, Harmesh Dhiman and others.
