Toronto:Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau is expected to grab the election headlines Saturday while targeting former Liberal ridings, as the only one of the major three party leaders holding public events.
He begins the day in north Toronto, hoping to woo voters in a long-held Liberal riding that the Conservatives scooped up in the last election.
Trudeau is attending a construction union’s family day event, where he’s expected to tout his plan for the middle class.
He then heads east, to Caraquet, N.B., to attend an Acadian festival.
The Acadie-Bathurst riding was once a Liberal stronghold, but while it was been NDP since 1997, the long-time MP Yvon Godin is not running again.
Stephen Harper and Tom Mulcair have no public campaign events.
Bloc Quebecois Leader Gilles Duceppe takes part in Gay Pride weekend events in Montreal then heads to Quebec City for the wedding of Parti Quebecois leader Pierre Karl Peladeau.
Green party Leader Elizabeth May is staying close to home in British Columbia, greeting constituents at the Central Saanich Family Festival.
