Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
New Delhi:India have drawn level with Spain in the three-match series. Riding goals from Ramandeep Singh and Akashdeep Singh, India won 2-0 at Sant Cugat del Valles on Wednesday. India had lost their first match 4-1.
Both the teams attacked from the first minute. SV Sunil and Akashdeep made some valiant efforts but were denied by the Spanish goalkeeper. Ramandeep’s field goal in the 17th minute enabled India take the breather 1-0. Earlier, PR Sreejesh saved a penalty corner for the visitors.
India had better control in the third quarter. Ramandeep set up Akashdeep, who scored with a rasping shot in the 33rd minute. Spain did everything but score as India defended well.
India dominated the last quarter. Spain wasted a penalty corner after Sreejesh, who was nominated for the Arjuna Award on Tuesday, brought off a fine save.
The third match of the series will be played on Thursday.
