Amritsar, August 6- Expressing solidarity with the victims of the Dina Nagar terror attack, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today said that the state would ever remain indebted to these brave hearts who have attained martyrdom or were injured in this attack.

Interacting with the injured persons who were undergoing treatment at local Guru Nanak and Amandeep Hospitals in the city, the Chief Minister reiterated state government’s firm commitment to extend all possible help to all these courageous people, who didn’t even bothered about their life while defending country’s unity and integrity. He said that Punjab government would leave no stone unturned to help them in this hour as the exemplary courage shown by these sons of the soil had saved our nation and state from colossal loss and destruction beyond anyone’s imagination.

The Chief Minister said that Punjab had always championed the cause of peace, communal harmony and brotherhood due to the heroic deeds of such valiant people. He said that the state government was duty bound to help them in this hour of crisis and every step would be taken to extend a helping hand to the family.

The Chief Minister said that the state Cabinet has recently decided that Rs 3 lakh would be given to the officials of the Punjab Police and Punjab Home Guards injured in the terror attack besides giving them the best medical treatment, free of cost. He said that the Cabinet has also gave approval to relax the existing relief norms under its policy thereby giving Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of dead civilians and Rs 3 lakh to the injured civilians besides the state government bearing the entire expenditure on the treatment of the injured civilians in both the government and private hospitals. Mr. Badal also handed over the cheque of Rs 21 lakh to the seven injured undergoing treatment at these hospitals.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by his Special Principal Secretary Mr. Ajoy Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ravi Bhagat and Police Commissioner Mr. Jatinder Singh Aulakh.
