Manchester United star winger Angel Di Maria is all set to join Paris Saint-Germain on a four-year deal to become the second most expensive player in the French league history.
According to reports, Di Maria is expected to be in Paris later this week to sign the dotted line with the French champions.
On Monday, the Argentine international was spotted in Doha where he underwent his medical examination before being announced as a new player of the Paris based club. However, the club hasn’t made the deal public yet.
Reportedly, PSG is set to pay GBP 44 million for the deal.
Last season, the former Real Madrid midfielder joined Manchester United for whooping 59.7 million pounds to smash the records in becoming the most expensive signing in the history of British football. However, his spell at Old Trafford was a tumultuous one.
After a lively start, the fast paced winger struggled to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League and was reduced to a second-fiddle role in Louis van Gaal’s side and ended the season with a tally of three goals in 27 Premier League appearances. However, he had 10 assists to his credit.
At PSG, Di Maria will be joining Argentina teammates Javier Pastore and Ezequiel Lavezzi along with the Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
