Chandigarh, August 4: Punjab today took a path breaking initiative to
bring transparency and information on land records on the finger tips
of every individual around the globe by launching a most comprehensive
24×7 helpline.
Punjab Revenue & Rehabilitation Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia
launched this unique helpline here in his office in the presence of
Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka, Rural Development & Panchayats Minister,
Mr. Virsa Singh Valtoha and Mr. Amarpal Singh Ajnala, both Chief
Parliamentary Secretaries, Mr. Manjit Singh Mianwind, MLA, former
Union Minister Mr. Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, Financial Commissioner
Revenue Mr. Karan A. Singh. Describing this helpline an initiative to
facilitate general public, Mr. Majithia said that it was aimed at
bringing in more efficiency as well as transparency in the functioning
of Revenue department thereby providing all land and property related
services in an efficacious manner.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Majithia said that with ever increasing
usage of internet as well as other online service, it becomes
imperative to provide all important service online to save the time as
well as human efforts.
This helpline has been divided in three parts as in first part one can
seek information regarding land records and registration of deed. In
the second part, anyone by simply making a phone call get latest
information/update regarding various cases in Revenue department,
information regarding solutions to problems being faced with Revenue
department besides latest information about the mutation, transfer of
khasra girdawri & demarcation of land. Similarly, in third part one
can register his complaint regarding Revenue department and any
Revenue officer. Inquiry/Status/Complaint will be registered and
unique number will be provided to the caller. Timely information to
the caller regarding status or closing of the complaint/grievance
lodged by him will be provided in a specified time frame. The helpline
will be available between 7.00 am to 7.00 pm and for NRI complainants,
it will be available round the clock.
