* Describes his death as great loss to Sikh Panth
Raikot (Ludhiana), Punjab Revenue and Information and Public Relations Minister, Mr Bikram Singh Majithia today deeply mourned the demise of Veteran Akali stalwart Jathedar Jagdev Singh Talwandi at village Talwandi Rai of the district today. Jathedar Talwandi had passed away following brief illness at Hero DMC Heart Institute on September 19.
Mr. Majithia today called on the bereaved family here at their residence and shared his heartfelt sympathies with them. He said that it was a huge loss for the entire family especially the Shiromani Akali Dal and entire Sikh Panth.
Mr Majithia shared his life experiences with Jathedar Jagdev Singh Talwandi’s wife Mahinder Kaur and sons Mr Ranjit Singh Talwandi (ex MLA) and Mr Jagjit Singh Talwandi (SGPC member) and other family members. Mr. Majithia became emotional as he saw old pictures of Jathedar Talwandi spanning from his initial forays in SGPC,Akali Dharam Yudhs and Akali politics and said that he was an institution himself.
Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia prayed to the almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength to them to bear this huge loss in this hour of crisis.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Advisor to CM, Mr Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal, MLAs Mr Manpreet Singh Ayali, Mr S R Kler and Mr Darshan Singh Shivalik, Punjab Subordinate Services Board Mr Santa Singh Umedpuri, Youth Akali Dal leader Mr Jagteshwar Singh Talwandi, DIG Mr Gurinder Singh Dhillon, former minister Mr Bikramjit Singh Khalsa, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ms Neeru Katyal, besides several others.
