BADAL TRYING TO RAKE UP KHALISTAN AGENDA FOR POLITICAL SURVIVAL: AMARINDER

Capt Amarinder

NANGAL (ROPAR), July 12: Congress Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh today warned the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal against playing Khalistan agenda for partisan interests and own political survival.

“Please behave responsibly in the interest of Punjab as we cannot afford another dark era as we are yet to come out of the repercussions of the previous one”, he told Mr Badal while addressing a largely attended public meeting organised by ex-MLA and senior party leader Rana KP Singh, here today.

Capt Amarinder said, Mr Badal had multiple reasons to fall back upon the panthic and Khalistan agenda. He said, the Chief Minister had failed on all the promises he had made in the manifesto and now he was resorting to emotive issue to divert the public attention. “Show me a single thing he had promised in his manifesto that he has done?” he asked, while adding, besides he was not feeling comfortable with the BJP and was now trying to resort to his old tactics of panthic blackmail.

The former Chief Minister said, the last nine years had proved to be disastrous for Punjab under Mr Badal. He said, the industry was fleeing the state to other parts of the country as it did not have any confidence in this government. With the result there were no jobs in Punjab and unemployment was rising, he pointed out.

He said, Badal was only concerned about himself and his family. He wondered as why there was no end to his (Mr Badal’s) greed for accumulating wealth when he was at such an advanced age of his life. “Throughout his life he has only thought of the Badal family and its members”, he observed, while pointing out how Punjab under Badal’s rule was getting poorer and poorer while Badal himself was getting richer and richer. He is opening five star hotels in every city in the country, he said.

Capt Amarinder promised that once Congress forms the government in Punjab in 2017, he will ensure that industry and investments came to Punjab and jobs were generated. He recalled how he had brought mega-projects during 2002 to 2007 but all of those were made to run away by Badals as they started extorting money from these investors.

He appealed to people to ensure that they voted very carefully in 2017 so that only a government which works for the welfare and progress of Punjab and its people is formed in the state. “You have everything in front of you as how we governed and how they are governing and the choice is yours”, he said, amidst a cheerful response from the public.

Later Capt Amarinder went to the ancestral house of the great Dalit leader and BSP founder late Kanshi Ram. He paid floral tributes to his statue and met his sister. He assured that he will do everything possible to prolong late Kanshi Ram Ji’s memory and ensure his dream of happiness and prosperity to the dalits and downtrodden people.

Rana KP Singh also addressed the public meeting.

Among others present on the occasion include Rana Gurjeet Singh, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, former union minister Ms Santosh Chaudhary, former MLAs Love Kumar Goldy, Ramesh Dutt Sharma, Sukhwinder Whisky, Ranjit Chhajalwadi, Giri Raj Rajoura, Ram Lubhaya and others.
