Woman, 22, critically injured after falling from van in west end

Ontario— A 22-year-old woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after falling off the back of a van near Exhibition Place late Saturday.
According to police, a dark coloured van similar to a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van was travelling north on Ontario Place Boulevard when it came to a red light at Lake Shore Boulevard West around 11:50 p.m..
While the van was stopped at the light, two women went to the back of the vehicle and climbed on its rear bumper, police said.
One of the women then fell from the back of the van, suffering life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the van did not stop, turning left on Lake Shore Boulevard West and continuing on, police said.
The woman was rushed to hospital after her fall.
Police said it’s not clear whether she was attempting to get down off the back of the van when she fell.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to get in touch with investigators.
