Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, July 10 :National Legal Services Authority under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Mr. Justice T.S. Thakur, Judge Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman, National Legal Services Authority is organizing a National Lok Adalat at all levels on 11.07.2015 for Electricity/Water/Telephone/Public Utility Services .As part of this, State Legal Services Authority, UT, Chandigarh is organizing Lok Adalat in the District Courts and Permanent Lok Adalat for Public Utility Services Chandigarh under the able guidance of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Shiavax Jal Vazifdar, the Acting Chief Justice, Punjab and Haryana High Court and Patron-in-Chief, State Legal Services Authority, U.T. Chandigarh, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Hemant Gupta, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court and Executive Chairman of State Legal Services Authority, U.T. Chandigarh and Hon’ble Mr. Justice T P S Mann, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Administrative Judge, Chandigarh Sessions Division.
Two Benches headed by the serving Judicial Officers have been constituted to hear the cases relating to Public Utility services as well as Traffic Challans in the District Courts, Chandigarh. A Bench has been constituted ,to be headed by Chairman Permanent Lok Adalat for Public Utility Services, Sector 17, Chandigarh who will take up cases of different categories of Utility Services. The cases under Electricity, Banks, Insurance Water, Telephone and Other Public Utility Services pending in the Permanent Lok Adalat for Public Utility Services at the pre-litigative stage would be taken up and disposed off with the consent of the parties.
Sh. Lal Chand, Member Secretary, State Legal Services Authority, UT Chandigarh has appealed to the litigant public to get benefitted from the National Lok Adalat. Further He informed that National Lok Adalat pertaining to Bank matters i.e Section 138, Negotiable Instruments Act, Recovery Suits etc(both pending and Pre Litigation matters) shall be organized on 08.08.2015 in the District Courts Complex, Sector-43, Chandigarh.
