Loonie, Toronto Stock Exchange down in Friday trading

TORONTO — The Toronto stock market moved lower Friday morning for a second day.
The S&P/TSX composite index was down 45 points, dropping to 14,852.50 after falling 50.01 points on Thursday.
The Dow Jones industrial average was up 97.95 points at 17,988.31, the Nasdaq index fell 14.11 points to 5,098.08, and the S&P 500 advanced 3.09 points to 2,105.40.
The loonie was down about one-quarter of a U.S. cent, falling 0.28 to 80.85 cents US.
On the commodity markets, the August crude contract was down 59 cents at US$59.11 a barrel and the August gold contract was up 10 cents at US$1,171.90 an ounce.
