New Delhi: Chelsea have agreed a deal with French club Monaco to sign former Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao.
According to reports in Sky Sports, the Premier League champions agreed upon a season long loan move with Falcao’s parent club Monaco.
The Colombian has decided to take a pay cut to join Jose Mourinho’s side. The move will cost Chelsea GBP 8m as Falcao looks to resurrect his career following a horrendous season with Manchester United last term
Falcao who had earlier showed his desire to stay in England, will join Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge with whom he has earlier played for Atletico. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho had stated that he will be happy to help Falcao reach his goal scoring touch to signal an interest in the classy striker.
Falcao who plied his trade at Manchester United in the 2014-15 season on loan had a disappointing spell after scoring just four goals in 29 appearences. Falcao’s poor form prompted Louis van Gaal to not renew the deal and the Colombian went back to parent club Monaco.
Falcao is currently playing in the Copa America with Colombia.
