MODI UNLIKELY TO ATTEND ANANDPUR SAHIB CELEBRATIONS

Chandigarh, June 13:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unlikely to attend main function relating to 350th anniversary of Anandpur Sahib on June 19.

Highly placed sources today maintained Prime Minister’s participation had not been confirmed so far.

The two Union ministers who have confirmed their programme are Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari.

It was may be mentioned that then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee had participated in the Khalsa tercentenary celebrations at Anandpur Sahib in April, 1999.

These sources also hinted that no significant announcement was likely to be made by the centre’s representatives at the main function.

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal at his meetings today relating to celebrations did not refer to the likely participation of the Prime Minister.
