Dalit commerce chamber & Sc commission to jointly launch campaign for unemployed Sc youth

Chandigarh, Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes today took a major step as it joined hands with Dalit Chamber of Commerce and Industry for skill development of unemployed SC Youth to increase their employability in the industry besides preparing them for self employment.

The Chamber Chairman Mr. Chandra Bhan Prasad and coordinator Shammi Kapoor today called on Mr. Rajesh Bagha, Chairman Punjab SC Commission and discussed the problems being faced by industry in recruiting unemployed SC Youth and it was decided to launch district wise skill development program for them to increase their employability in the industrial sector. It was also decided to explore different centrally sponsored schemes of skill development to help maximum unemployed youth in minimum time.

It was also decided in the meeting that DICCI would provide requisite technical training and educate the youth regarding emerging trades of industry where there were more chance of employment. They would be also provided training in entrepreneur development program so that they could opt for self-employment ventures. They would also be educated regarding process of availing credit facilities from the institutional banks and other financial bodies.

The DICCI would also organise camps in assistance with Punjab SC Commission in different parts of state to identify the unemployed SC youth and later on these camps would be fanned out to tehsil level.

Mr. Rajesh Bagha expressed gratitude to DICCI for focusing on Punjab in their nationwide endeavour to uplift the life of SC youth.

Meanwhile former MLA Mr. Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal and Vice Chairman of Punjab Infotech Mr. Khuswant Rai Giga also thanked DICCI delegation for their efforts.
