JAKHAR DEMANDS SPECIAL STATE ASSEMBLY SESSION ON CURRENT FINANCIAL CONDITION OF PUNJAB

* Demand to put facts on the table of the house pertaining to the grants received and it utilization by the state Government during the regime of Dr Manmohan Singh and Modi led NDA Government

Chandigarh (June 04, 2015 : While demanding the special session of Punjab State Assembly to discuss the actual financial condition of the state, leader of opposition in the assembly Sunil Jakhar urged to the chief minister Parkash Singh Badal to discuss the financial conditions of Punjab and to lay down the facts on the table of the house pertaining to the grants received and its utilization during the regime of Prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh (2004-2014) and present PM Narendera Modi government and the previous NDA Government (1999 to 2004).

He said that chief minister himself accepted that Punjab have been suffering from the poor financial conditions in the house and state Government is in the dire need of special economic package from the central Government. He said that people of the state have right to know the actual financial condition of Punjab.

He also mentioned that Congress led central Government had put the Punjab state in to the category of the states with poor financial conditions during 13thfinance commission. “Now BJP- Akali led Central Government did not mention about Punjab state in the reports of 14th five year finance commission (2015-2020).

Being as state with poor financial conditions, Former Congress Prime minister never denied help to Punjab and chief minister himself number of times have quoted about the support by the PM Dr Manmohan Singh for the Punjab. He also reminded that Prime Minister had sanctioned the projects worth Rs 2240 Crore to tackle the problem of wet areas in Punjab, even after election code with permission of Election commission of India. He also blamed that newly BJP Central Government have cancelled the projects, which was sanctioned by the previous UPA Government and their allies ruling Shiromani Akali Dal even could not expressed their objections over the anti state decisions.

Sunil Jakhar also reminded the state Government led by chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, he should stop the distribution of public money over their sycophants during Sangat Darshan. He said that instead of criticizing the Congress Government or Congress party, he should expressed his objections over their ally political party BJP for adopting anti Punjab policies and by distributing special economic packages to other states.
