* KHALSA HUE TAKES OVER DEVOTEES
* PEOPLE BRAVE SCORCHING HEAT TO HAVE DRASHAN OF YATRA
Kathunangal/ Amritsar, May 24: Punjab government and SGPC’s initiative Dharmik Darshan Yatra today brought the holy relics of Guru Sahibaan from Amritsar to birth place of Baba Buddha Ji Sahib at Kathunangal on its way to Batala.
Panj Piaras led the procession wherein the bus carrying Guru Sahibans’ relics gave its darshan to the devotees. Colored in the Khalsai hues people basked in the warmth of Gurus’ blessings. At Kathunangal, under the revenue and information and public relation officer Mr Bikram Singh Majithia’s political secretary Talbir Singh Gill and Major Shivcharan Singh devotees from Majitha and Kathunangal paid obeisance. People paid floral tributes to the yatra and the contingent of Punjab police gave salutation. Talbir Singh Gill presented siropas to the Panj Piaras. He said that the yatra was an excellent initiative of the Punjab government and SGPC to associate youngsters with Guru Sahiban and create awareness on the rich heritage of Sikhism. He appealed youngsters to walk on the path Gurus have shown. Baba Sajan Singh Guru Ki Ber, Baba Ajaib Singh Guru Ki Bagh, Baba Gurbhej Singh Khajalewale, Sant Kirpal Das Sarhala were also present along with yatra.
Devotees braved the scorching heat to welcome yatra despite delay. Village Umarpura’s sarpanch Gurdeep Singh, who had come for darshan with his family, said that he was very happy to have darshan of Guru Sahibans’ relics. The member of SGPC staff Harpal Singh Nangal Pannuan and driver Nihang Mohammad Singh Sri Anandpur Sahib said that largest crowd of devotees for yatra has been witnessed here. The yatra thereafter left for its next destination to Batala.
Area residents had erected spectacular gates to welcome the yatra and the roads were lined with flags, chhabeel and langar.
Prominent among others present included Talbir Singh Gill, Major Shivi, member SGPC Bhagwant Singh Sialka and others.
