REVIEWS THE WORKING OF THE PREMIER RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL
EXPRESSES SATISFACTION OVER THE PERFORMANCE OF STUDENTS IN VARIOUS FIELDS
Sri Anandpur Sahib, May 23-Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today envisioned the Sri Dashmesh Academy, Sri Anandpur Sahib as a pioneer residential school of the country.
Presiding over a review meeting here today, the Chief Minister said that more concerted efforts need to be made for making Sri Dashmesh Academy as a premier institute at par with Doon and Sanawar schools. Expressing satisfaction over the ongoing developments in the school, he said that the day was not far when this prestigious Academy would soon emerge as one of the leading residential public schools in the country. Mr Badal said since its inception way back in 1978, when its foundation stone was laid by the then President of India Mr N. Sanjeeva Reddy, this state of the art academy was his dream project.
The Chief Minister said that he was still passionately involved in this project to bring it at the zenith besides providing world class education to the students of the region. He said that it was matter of pride and satisfaction that the students of academy were excelling in varied fields of sports, academics and extra-curricular activities. However, Mr. Badal said that more efforts need to be made to further groom the students in every field.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the ongoing construction work at the upcoming Guest House in Sri Dashmesh Academy. Meanwhile he also visited the Martial Art Academy and held detailed deliberations with the students undergoing training in field of wrestling, boxing, football and other games.
Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Cabinet Minister Dr. Daljeet Singh Cheema and Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. KJS Cheema.
