New Delhi, May 22: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today launched all-out attack against the Narendra Modi government with focus on the powers of ordering postings and transfers in this semi-state saying the Lieutenant Governor was like Viceroy getting orders from London, in this case Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing a news conference, he said the notification issued by the centre specifying the powers of the LG to issue postings and transfers was one year’s gift by Modi to the people of Delhi. He alleged the BJP wanted to corrupt officers to be posted in Delhi and run the Delhi government through back door despite the fact that the BJP had just three out of 70 MLAs.
It may be mentioned that the tug of war had been going on for the last five days between Kejriwal and Lt Governor Najeeb Jung on the issue of postings and transfers.
He claimed the AAP government was the cleanest so far and that was what had rattled the Modi government.
He said he has never been asked about the issues like water and electricity by the LG but how come he was so keen to have his own officers at important posts.
Kejriwal said postings and transfers was a big money making industry and the AAP government had launched a crackdown against that.
