New Delhi, Veteran BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani, who was sidelined totally in the NDA government and the BJP, finally bagged a post in Parliament.
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Monday appointed L K Advani as the Chairman of the Lok Sabha Committee on Ethics, which oversees the moral and ethical conduct of its members.
Advani was recently removed from the party Parliamentary Board and party Central Election Committee. Interestingly enough, the Speaker had recently appointed L K Advani as a member of the Standing Committee on Information Technology headed by one of the youngest members of his party, Anurag Thakur. Advani will also be a part of the Committee on Public Undertakings headed by the BJP’s Shanta Kumar.
The Speaker also appointed another senior party leader Murli Manohar Joshi as a member of the Committee on Scrutiny of Budget Estimates of Lok Sabha. Joshi was recently appointed Chairman of the Estimates Committee.
Both Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi were members of the Ethics Committee in the 15th Lok Sabha.
The 15-member Committee includes A Arunmozhithevan, Ninong Ering, Sher Singh Ghubaya, Hemant Tukaram Godse, Pralhad Joshi, Bhagatsingh Koshyari, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Bhartruhari Mahtab, Kariya Munda, Jayshreeben Patel, Malla Reddy, Sumedhanand Saraswati and Bhola Singh (Begusarai).
Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) MP A P Jithender Reddy has been made the Chairman of the Joint Committee on Food Management in Parliament House Complex. In consultation with the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Mahajan constituted the 15-member joint committee on Food Management.
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao has been made Chairman of the committee on Violation of Protocol Norms and Contemptuous Behaviour of Government Officers with Members of the Lok Sabha.
