* DARSHAN DIDAR YATRA ENTERS MOGA DISTRICT
Darapur (Moga), May 16: The Darshan Didar Yatra carrying relics of three Sikh Guru’s entered the Moga district from Darapur village side. It was well received by a sea of devotees led by Agriculture Minister Jathedar Tota Singh, Moga MLA Mr Joginder Pal Jain, MLA Mr Mahesh Inder Singh, SAD district president Jathedar Tirath Singh Mahla, Mayor Mr Akshit Jain, State Information Commissioner Mr Nirdharak Singh Brar, and all Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) members from the district.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Deputy Commissioner Mr Parminder Singh Gill, SSP Mr Hardial Singh Mann, SP (H) Mr Harjit Singh Pannu, besides several others. A contingent of Punjab Police also gave a guard of honour to the yatra.
A unique initiative of Punjab government and SGPC, the yatra started on May 6 from Sri Dukhniwaran Sahib Gurudwara in Patiala and after passing through all the districts of state will culminate at Sri Anandpur Sahib.
SGPC Members S. Tarsem Singh Rattian, S. Gurlabh Singh Jhandeana and S. Gurmel Singh Sangatpura presented Siropa’s to the Panj Piara’s.
While speaking on the occasion, Jathedar Tota Singh lauded the efforts of Punjab government and SGPC for starting this yatra, which would educate the youth about our religion, history and legacy. He said that the yatra carries relics of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib, Sri Guru Teg Bahadar Sahib and Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji displayed in a specially crafted 33 feet long bus.
After passing through Darapur, Jogewal! dagru, Ghall Kalan and Dunne Kenvillages, the Yatra would halt at Guru Nanak College, Moga for night. Tomorrow, it would start from Guru Nanak College and after passing through Lande Ke, Lohara Chowk, BIS College Gagra, it would reach Kot Isse Khan. After that this Yatra would pass through Zira and Makhu in Ferozepur district and would halt at Hairke Pattan for night.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Punjab Health Systems Corporation chairman Mr Barjinder Singh Brar, Mr Ranwinder Singh Pappu Ramoowalia, Mr Rajwant Singh Mahla, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Mr Jatinder Pal Singh, SDM Mrs Surinder Kaur besides several others.
