Lord’s Prayer to be replaced with moment of silence at Mississauga City Council

imageMISSISSAUGA, Ont.-  The practice of starting Mississauga city council meetings with the Lord’s Prayer will end on Wednesday.
Council recently passed a motion to stop opening meetings with the prayer and has decided to observe 30 seconds of silence instead.
The motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Bonnie Crombie says a silent reflection is inclusive for everyone.
She adds they can “acknowledge and recognize issues that are happening around the world.”
