New Delhi, Ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to India, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Monday that unresolved boundary issues will be addressed will China.
“Unresolved boundary issues will be addressed,” MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin told the media in the national capital, as per ANI.
Regarding Chinese incursions in Ladakh, he said that India’s borders were in safe hands and also hoped that all substantive issues of China-India bearing will be discussed.
“India and China will sign some agreements,” Akbaruddin said emphasising that the visit by Chinese President was being seen as as valuable for progress of issues of interest to both the countries.
Jinping is scheduled to visit India from 17th to 19th of this month. This is the third visit of a Chinese President to India.
A high power delegation is accompanying Jinping.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host a private dinner for the Chinese President.
Jinping will also meet President Pranab Mukherjee on September 18 following which there will be a banquet.
Meanwhile, amid reports of incursions by Chinese troops into Ladakh, a top government official in Leh said today that China has been protesting against a civil work in Demchok area for the past one week.
SS Gill, the district magistrate and district collector of Leh, told media that it had been a week that China has been protesting against the construction of a NREGA irrigation canal.
He also said that the Chinese civilians have come to oppose the work on the canal and have been showing India banners.
Earlier today, another face-off was reported between the soldiers of India and China in Chumur .
And yesterday it was reported that Chinese troops had intruded 500 metres into the Indian territory in Demchok and put up tents there.
