Chandigarh, Punjab Education Minister Dr. Daljit singh Cheema today has been issued instructions to the Department to ensure job on compassionate basis for kin of grieved family in a time bound manner and warned that strict action would be taken against officers responsible for any delay in such cases.
In a press statement issued after holding a meeting with officials of Education Department here at Punjab Civil secretariat, Dr. Cheema said that Department has fixed new directions to take action against officials responsible for delay in the compassionate based cases. He said that district level committees would be formed under District Education Officer to ensure that compassionate cases for the kin of deceased employ should be ready within two weeks of his death. He further added that district level office would send all such cases to higher authority on every second Monday of the month and it would be compulsory for Head Office to give approval to the case within two weeks.
Dr. Cheema said that in case Head office raised any objection in the case the official at district level would be responsible for the same and strict action would be taken against him.
The Minister also reviewed the promotions of 665 Head Teachers and expressed satisfaction on their own choice based postings. He said that this system of posting and appointments has brought transparency in the system on one hand and satisfaction for teachers on other.
