Sena demands Kashmiri Pandits’ ‘ghar wapsi’

senMumbai, Under attack for its call to disenfranchise Muslims, the Shiv Sena today called for the restoration of the Kashmiri Pandits’ voting rights in the Kashmir Valley.
“None of those who are shedding tears over the voting rights of the Muslims are worried about the same rights of the Kashmiri Pandits. No Owaisi or his secular friends have called for the restoration of the Pandits’ voting rights… the Kashmiri Pandits have been crushed to ensure the victory of Pakistan supporters,” Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna said in an editorial today.
It noted that not a single Hindu has been elected from the Kashmir Valley in the recent Assembly elections. “Nobody is concerned about the voting rights of Hindus, but there are some who create a ruckus about Muslims’ right to exercise their franchise,” the edit said.
“Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who is ruling Jammu and Kashmir with the support of the BJP is busy making arrangements to release terrorists lodged in jails…. There are still no answers about the ‘ghar wapsi’ of the Kashmiri Pandits,” Saamna said.
The newspaper went on to hit out at Sayeed for his proposal to rehabilitate the Pandits in separate enclaves. “Sayeed is talking of creating separate areas for Kashmiri Pandits. So is this some big slum redevelopment project for the sons-of-the-soil?” Saamna said. It further noted that even this was opposed to by the separatists.
