tarun-ji-copy-700x525Chandigarh, Accusing PPCC chief Partap Singh Bajwa and CLP leader Sunil Jakhar of misleading people of Punjab, BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh today came out with facts and figures to counter the malicious propaganda unleashed by Congress leaders.

Chugh said that the government led by Punjab chief minister Sr.  Parkash Singh Badal has got much more funds from the Modi government as compared to the funds it got from the UPA government.

Terming the progpaganda of Congress leaders as ridiculous, Chugh said that theCongress leaders bereft of any agenda were stooping low to target the Modi government without any facts.  The people of the state won’t believe the lies ofCongress leaders and would definitely look into the facts, he said.

Castigating Congress leaders for sensationalising each and every issue that came their way, Chugh said that the Congress led UPA government, in the year 2014-15 had earmarked Rs.3.38 lakh crores  for the states while the 10-month old Modi government has raised the amount to almost double taking it to 5.24 lakh crore which is 1.86 lakh crore more than the last year. This is because the Prime Minister believes in federal structure and wants to strengthen it further, he added.

The BJP ledaer claimed that Punjab got Rs.6183 crore as its share of taxes and grants in the year 2014-15 while the Modi government has riased the amount to Punjab by 2767 crores in the year 2015-16 taking the total to Rs.8950 crore.

He said that under the UPA government, in the 13th five year plan (2010-15), Rs.19,800 crore were earmarked for Punjab while in the 14th five year plan, Modi government has raised the funding to Punjab to Rs.61,400 crore which means a raise of Rs.41600 crore. This comes to an unprecedented and phenomenal increase of 210 percent.  He said that Punjab, in the next five years, was all set to get Rs. 6543 crore for the development of vilages, cities and towns.

Chugh said that similarly, Haryana would get Rs.Rs.42205 crore as compared to Rs.14937 crore it got under the UPA regime which is a clear raise of Rs.27268 crore.

Himachal got Rs.11,131 crore under UPA regime, while the the Modi government has earmarked Rs.27764 crore for the state, which is Rs.16633 crore more than what it got under 13th finance commission.

The hill state of Jammu and Kashmir would be getting an increased flow of funds as Modi government has earmarked Rs. 70547 crore as compared to Rs.19052 crore. This means that J&K would be getting Rs.51495 crore more than what it got last year.

The state of Rajasthan last year  got Rs.83426 crore only but in the next five years it would be getting Rs. 214046 crore, which means a raise of Rs.130620 crore, he said.
