Amritsar, Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), the apex religious body of Sikhs, has been dispatching relief material, including cooked food, to the flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir on daily basis.
SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar said here today that the religious body has also set up a relief camp at Gurudwara Bhunga Badgham Sahib in Srinagar.
He said all essential perishable and eatable material is being sent to Srinagar by air from Amritsar airport. “Cooked food is being sent on daily basis,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society here today dispatched a truck laden with 1,000 blankets to Kashmir.
