Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, The Congress party has declared S.Simar Partap Singh Barnala the Grand son of Ex Governor and Ex CM S.Surjit Singh Barnala as their official candidate in Dhuri bye-elections and the ruling SAD-BJP has planned to file Ex-Minister S.Gobind Singh Longowal as their candidate whereas the Aam Admi Party has left the grounds free by abstaining from the election, so as a result the fight seems to be directly between the two main parties now. The Office bearers of the Sehajdhari Sikh Party today held a press conference at Chandigarh press club and declared that the National Executive Council of their party has decided to extend its support to Barnala family.
The National Chief of the Sehajdhari Sikh Party Dr.P.S.Ranu appealed that all like minded political forces and NGO’s who are really concerned about the future of Punjab should come forward, leaving aside their own agenda and only for the interest of Punjab, support the young dynamic and qualified law graduate face S. Simar Pratap Singh Barnala. He said that the Sehajdhari Sikh Party had supported the Aam Admi Party openly during the last Lok Sabha elections and now if AAP would have filed any candidate they would have supported them but now only a united front can compete with the ruling party. He appealed to the CPI, CPM , CPM Punjab (Pasla) and CPI ML (Liberation),BSP,SAD Mann and the PPP to unitedly support the candidature of junior Barnala if they are really sincere to defeat the SAD-BJP alliance. He urged the congress party to show its soliditary by rising above factionism and appealed Maharaja Amrinder Singh to campaign continuously till election day for the success of their party candidate.
The Party’s State President S.Surinder Pal Singh Sekhon said that Dhuri bye election shall be the future mile stone for Punjab Assembly 2017 and all those leaders who claim that they are very much worried about the youth of Punjab and concerned with issues like drugs, law and order and corruption should forget all their vested interests and egos and must rise above all political thoughts and come forward to unitedly support Barnala family in order to teach a lesson to the ruling alliance. The party leader National Senior Vice–President S.Kashmir Singh Bhinder Rtd. PPS gave a slogan “JE SGPC VCH VOTE NAHI TE AKALIYA NU KOI SUPPORT NAHI”. Its mentionable here that the SGPC has denied voting rights to the non-baptized so called Sehjadhari Sikhs in the Gurdwara elections and they had to fight a legal battle to restore it and still the case is pending in the Supreme Court and the SAD is opposing them.
