Sikh leaders from Delhi and Patna Sahib calls on Sukhbir Badal

* Appeals to meet Prime Minister and Chief Minister Bihar to ensure adequate arrangements in view
of 350th birth anniversary of Tenth Guru
* Deputy CM assures to personally meet PM and CM Bihar

 Chandigarh, A high level delegation of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) and Takht Sri Patna Sahib Management Committee today called on President Shiromani Akali Dal and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal with a view to ensure adequate arrangements at birthplace of tenth Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji ahead of the guru’s 350th birth anniversary in January 2017 at Patna Sahib in Bihar by taking up the issue with Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister.

The delegation led by DSGMC Chief S. Manjit Singh GK and Secretary S. Manjinder Singh Sirsa along with members of Takht Sri Patna Sahib Management Committee apprised Mr. Badal about the requisite arrangements for smooth and peaceful conduct of this historic congregation. They informed SAD President that this would be one of the biggest religious congregation to mark 350th birth anniversary of the tenth guru of Sikhs at his birth place. The delegation emphasised the need that Mr. Badal should meet Prime Minister, concerned Union Ministers and Bihar Chief Minister to ensure timely and ample arrangements for devotees.

Members of delegation also informed Mr. Badal that lakhs of devotees from across the globe are expected to pay their obeisance at Takht Sri Patna Sahib so to facilitate sangat requisite lodging, boarding, traffic, security and supply of potable water should be ensured well in time. They asked S. Badal to rake up the issue with concerned ministries as the function to be slated for January 2017 could be organised successfully and without any interruption.

After having discussion on the issue in detail, S. Badal assured the delegation that he would soon personally meet Prime Minister, Chief Minister Bihar and other concerned Union Ministers. He said Shiromani Akali Dal would soon rake up this issue and needful arrangements would be get made.

On the occasion S. Gurvinder Pal Singh, S. Sarjinder Singh, S. Pritpal Singh Callcutta, S. Mohinder Singh Chhabra, S. Shalinder Singh Tata Nagar UP, Kawaljit Kaur, Dr. Gurmeet Singh, were present.
