Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal today greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, which literally translates to “great night of Shiva”, is a national festival largely celebrated to venerate Lord Shiva, an important deity in Hindu culture.
In his message of felicitations and good wishes, Mr Badal observed that this festival symbolizes the values of piety, devotion, brotherhood and harmony, which are the hallmark of our glorious pluralistic ethos. He said that all the religions teach to live in peace and to help each other especially the downtrodden and under privileged class of the society.
Wishing the people a happy Mahashivratri, the Deputy CM prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in the State. He added that such festivals are essence of the culture of the state and encourage people of different communities to come close to each other.
