It is well known that Kajol and Rani Mukerji come from the same family. The leading ladies are cousin sisters, however, they, self-admittedly, do not share a typical sister bond with each other. The actresses recently appeared together at a chat show and spoke candidly about their family dynamics. Rani Mukerji and Kajol discuss their family dynamics In a recent chat show, cousins Kajol and Rani Mukerji shed light on why they were talking to each other less in the 2000s. The actresses even shared screenspace in movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and select others. Recalling their estranged dynamics Kajol asserted, “Nothing really like that. It was just an organic distance. Where work is concerned it’s more that both of us liked where we were.” A file photo of Rani Mukerji and Kajol | Image: Instagram Rani Mukerji, on the other hand, revealed how she always had a distance with Kajol because she was much younger. She asserted that she was closer to Tanisha, who is Kajol’s younger sister. The Bunty Aur Babli actress said, “Because I have known her as a kid and she was Kajol didi for me and it was a bit stranger. I guess when you grow apart you really don’t know the reason why because you don’t meet that often because Kajol didi used to stay in town and we were in Juhu. Me and Tanisha were much closer and we are still. But Kajol didi was always closer to the boys of the family. So, it was a bit strange.” Rani Mukerji talks about how she finally got close to Kajol A file photo of Rani Mukerji and Kajol | Image: Instagram In the same conversation, the Mrs Chaterjee Vs Norway actress opened up about how eventually the sisters bridged the gap with each other. She shared that it was after both of them lost their fathers that they came together stronger than before. She recalled. “As families when you lose your loved ones… I was close to Kajol’s dad. When you go through tough times and losses, that’s when everybody comes closer.” Kajol, on the other hand, termed their coming together as ‘organic’ and explained how it just happened on its own.

Starting December 1, 2023, India is set to implement new SIM card regulations aimed at enhancing security measures and curbing online financial fraud.

Initially scheduled for August 1, the Department of Telecommunication (DoT) deferred the rollout of these regulations. The primary focus of these changes is to combat online financial fraud effectively.

Key modifications:

Enrollment for Telecom Operators:

Telecom operators are mandated to register their franchisees, point-of-sale (PoS) agents, and distributors. This registration requirement aims to prevent unauthorized issuance of SIM cards by PoS agents and deter illicit activities. Registration involves a formal agreement with licensees. Failure to comply with the new regulations could lead to termination and a three-year blacklisting. Existing PoS agents have a 12-month window to complete the registration process.

Curbing Aadhaar Misuse:

To combat the rampant misuse of printed Aadhaar, capturing demographic details through scanning the QR code on the printed Aadhaar becomes compulsory. In case of mobile number disconnection, a 90-day cooling-off period will be provided.

Mandatory Digital Know Your Customer (e-KYC):

The upcoming regulations effective from December 1 make Digital Know Your Customer (KYC) mandatory for all SIM users, streamlining the digital verification process.

Discontinuation of Bulk Connections:

In a bid to thwart fraudulent activities by SIM dealers, the government has discontinued the issuance of bulk connections. Ashwini Vaishnav emphasized earlier, stating, “Mandatory authentication of SIM dealers aims to combat fraud. Dealers found breaching the norms will face a penalty of Rs 10 lakh.”
