‘Difference Between Virat Kohli And Other Players Even Sachin Tendulkar’: Waqar Younis Makes Big Prediction For Indian Maestro

Legendary Pakistan pacer Waqar Younis has backed Virat Kohli to score a lot more centuries as he feels that the Indian batting maestro is a long way from finishing his cricketing career.

Kohli displayed his class against Pakistan in the Super 4 clash in the ongoing Asia Cup. The 34-year-old scored a sublime century and scripted some new records including the fastest to 47th ODI ton and 13,000 ODI runs. It was another masterclass knock from Kohli as he silenced his critics who raised questions over his form after his below-par outing in the group-stage clash against Pakistan.

With his ton on Monday, Kohli has now smashed 47 ODI centuries and is just two away from equaling legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of 49 hundred.

Younis talked about the difference between Kohli and Tendulkar and said that the 34-year-old will end his career with a lot more centuries.

“The difference between him and other players, even Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin Tendulkar, when he finished, had 49 hundreds (ODIs). I can promise you Virat is a long way from finishing his career or being done with cricket. He will end up with a lot more (hundreds) than anybody can think,” Waqar told Star Sports.

Kohli shared an unbeaten 233 runs for the unbeaten third wicket stand with KL Rahul – the highest ODI partnership for India against Pakistan. Rahul also scored a century on his comeback game to prove his fitness as he and Kohli ran a lot of quick doubles to put Pakistan under pressure throughout the match.

Waqar further said that he felt sorry for Rahul who was returning after an injury lay-off and had to run a lot as Kohli doesn’t miss any run when he is in the middle.

“I felt sorry for KL Rahul because he was coming out of injury and he had to run with this man. He runs like a crazy man. Doesn’t miss a single, doesn’t miss any extra run because he wants to be the best. He wants to be the best in anything he does, batting, fielding or running between the wickets. And what he loves himself is his work on fitness,” Waqar added
