Air India is on the fiers’ radar for all the wrong reasons lately: From Shardul Thakur complaining about baggage delay to actor Manoj Joshi slamming the Tata Group airlines for the “worst service” citing similar reasons.
But its embarrassing run continues as Lead Economist at World Bank, Vijayendra Rao is now the latest to criticise the flag carrier.
Rao was flying Air India from Delhi to San Francisco when he allegedly faced a 13-hour delay among other nightmares on the trans-Pacific flight.
“Flew @airindiain DEL to SFO. Wonderful flight: Delayed by 13 hours, so I had more time with family. Food was inedible, so I ate less. Seat next to me was broken and unoccupied, so I had more room to stretch. In-flight entertainment did not work, so I slept more,” the economist wrote in a tongue-in-cheek
.
The air carrier then solicited his booking details and assured the disappointed flyer of “review and corrective action”.
“Dear Mr. Rao, we truly understand the inconvenience faced by you and would like to ensure that your feedback has been shared with the relevant teams for internal actions and review,” it said.
It comes as Phir Hera Pheri actor Manoj Joshi alleged that his flight from Bhopal to Mumbai was delayed by 3 hours and there was no voluntary assistance from the staff despite a 40-minute wait at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai.
Shardul Thakur himself took to Twitter to share his ordeal upon arrival in Mumbai after the recently-concluded India vs. South Africa ODI series.
Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines (SIA) confirmed it’s in talks with Tata for a possible merger of Air India and Vistara, a joint venture between the Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines.
