ECI to link electoral IDS with Aadhar cards

Chandigarh, The Chief Electoral Officer Mr. V.K.Singh in a statement issued here today said that as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, the EPIC in Punjab would be linked to the Aadhar Cards.

In a statement issued here today C E O Mr. V.K.Singh said that the Commission has already initiated a pilot project of linking the voters’ cards with aadhar cards and was in progress in Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Chamkaur Sahib and SAS Nagar Mohali. Software to facilitate the voters has also been released today by the Election Commission. The voters could get their aadhar card s regfistered with the Chief Electoral officer from February 6 to March 7, 2015.

Aadhar Card numbers could also be registered on the website www.ceopunjab.nic.in or send SMS on 7738299899 in the format CEOJB (Space) AD (Space)EPIC Number(Space)AADHAR Number 0r on toll free no.1950.

The CEO Punjab appealed to the voters of Chamkaur Sahib and SAS Nagar Mohali to get them enrolled in voters’ list with the AAdhar Cards.
