Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who often talks about topics that go beyond cinema, recently opened up about her period journey. The actress, on the occasion of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, shared her ‘Period Story’ and revealed who guided her when she started menstruating.
In a video posted on the official Instagram account of fem-tech brand Nua, Deepika recalls the first time her mother and her friend Divya’s mother Jaishree sat them down and talked them through it all.
“I will never forget this moment where my best friend (Divya) and I were sat down by both of our mothers and one of the mothers took charge and said they needed to talk to us about something. Her name is Jaishree aunty and my friend’s name is Divya,” she recalled adding that Jaishree sat them down and spoke to them about what periods are and why it happens.
