Governor felicitates 47 NCC cadets

Chandigarh, Governor of Punjab, Haryana and Administrator of Chandigarh, Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki today felicitated NCC cadets from the state and the UT for their stellar performance at the national-level Republic Day Camp-2015 in New Delhi.As many as 47 cadets — including 15 girls from Punjab and three girls out of eight cadets from Chandigarh — were honoured at a function organised at the Punjab Raj Bhawan here today. They were given a cash award of Rs 11,000 each. These cadets had won competitions at the camp. The Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh NCC Directorate had lifted the overall championship banner this year after a gap of 38 years.Additional Director General, NCC, Maj Gen GS Chima, said the cadets displayed their talent through the flag area with cultural dance, ballet and a national integration presentation, which were highly appreciated by senior dignitaries at the camp, including the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister.
