IPL 2022: Mumbai Indians pacer Jofra Archer’s month-old tweet predicting Aam Aadmi Party’s “sweep” goes viral

As election results of five states started coming out on Thursday and showed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) racing towards a thumping win in Punjab, England pacer Jofra Archer caught the attention of many.

After Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP took the lead in over 90 off the 117 assembled seats, the party claimed the England pacer predicted their clean sweep last month.

Not to get confused, it was all the perfect use of creativity by AAP’s social media team. They tapped the right pulse on D-Day as they found a perfect blend of politics and cricket. The official Twitter handle of the political Party reshared a less than a month old tweet of Archer which read: “Sweep?.”

AAP retweeted Archer’s tweet with a caption, “YES, #AAPSweepsPunjab.” Meanwhile, Archer, who is rated as one of the world’s most lethal pacers, will represent Mumbai Indians from the upcoming 15th season of the Indian Premier League.

Notably, Archer often grabs the limelight for his one-liner cryptic tweets and leaves his fans puzzled. Quite recently, Archer’s old tweet went viral in the context of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It was an old post from 8 years back where the English pacer had written, “Come on Russia,” and as expected, cricket fans across the globe could not believe the mere coincidence between his tweet and the current situation in Europe.

However, Jofra’s tweet reading “Come on Russia” was when FIFA World Cup was taking place in Brazil. The English cricketer was earlier supposed to skip the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League but recent reports suggest that he could participate in the 15th edition of the tournament. Recently, Archer who has been out of action owing to a recurrent injury, posted a video of himself doing bowling practice, to which the official Instagram handle of the Mumbai franchise also commented saying, “Breathing Fire 🔥”. This particular development has left the fans of the Rohit Sharma-led team all excited. However, there hasn’t been an official confirmation yet.
