Start talking about leadership and there will be hundreds of perspectives available. But there are certain qualities that must be in a leader.
Compassion and empathy are two of them. In cricket, there have been many captains who have enjoyed great success. But there have been also those who have enjoyed remarkable success as well as respect. Benchmark is set for the new captains coming in.
Pakistan cricket has found a new captain in Babar Azam, and it seems he is walking the right path. A recent incident is a testimony to that. A video of Babar Azam rushing towards his teammate Azhar Ali, after the latter got hit on his helmet in nets, is going viral on social media. In the video, it can be seen that Ali is facing Shaheen Shah Afridi in the nets. On one of the deliveries, Ali attempts a pull shot but misses and the ball hits his helmet, and he goes down immediately in pain.
The Pakistan captain, who was watching all this from a distance, runs quickly as soon as he sees Ali going down to check if his teammate is alright. This small act from Babar won the hearts of internet users.

One of the users also pointed out how much Babar Azam cares for his teammates. “How my captain King #Babar Azam ran towards Azhar Ali, he cares so much,” wrote a user.
