Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Tension prevailed in Nizamabad district of Telangana on Saturday after a slight scuffle broke out between Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) activists over the Chhatrapati Shivaji statue installation.
The trouble began when a local BJP cadre installed the Chhatrapati Shivaji statue and decided to get it inaugurated by the party MP Aravind on the birthday of the Maratha king.
Meanwhile, the local cadre of TRS unveiled the statue before the arrival of the BJP MP, which led to a clash between the ruling and opposition parties.
Activists of both parties also pelted stones at each other.
A sub-inspector and a woman personnel of Dharna Palli police station were injured in the incident.
