Buyers of the Ola S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters have a new date to look forward to, as Ola Electric has announced it will open the payment window for customers next week.
In a tweet published on January 14, Ola Chairman and Group CEO Bhavish Aggarwal revealed the final payment window for S1 and S1 Pro buyers will open on January 21, 2022 for those who have already confirmed their purchase order by paying Rs 20,499 so far.
Dispatches of scooters for these customers, according to Aggarwal, will take place over the remainder of January and February.
However, there is no mention of when the purchase window will open for those who reserved their Ola electric scooter by making an initial payment of Rs 499.
Customers who made an advance payment of Rs 20,000 in 2021 but weren’t given the option to make the full payment have had to wait a fair bit for the opening of this window.
Originally, the final payment window for such customers was to open at the start of November, which was then pushed to 16 December, and later, to late-January 2022. Reservations, however, have remained open, with those interested still able to pay Rs 499 to join the queue.
As per a tweet from Aggarwal dated January 6, the Ola Electric ‘Futurefactory’ is now producing nearly 1,000 scooters a day.
To recap, the Ola S1 and S1 Pro come with a three-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty for their battery packs. The S1 has a 2.98 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, while the Ola S1 Pro has a 3.97 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The warranty on the scooter itself is three years or 40,000 kilometres, whichever comes first.
