On Thursday, an alarming surge in Covid cases was reported in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, pushing the daily count of cases to 72 in the state. Meanwhile, on the Omicron front, the state’s tally stands at 10. These rising figures in MP are knocking the third wave of Corona.
So far, the total number of infections in the state stands at 7,93,000 people. Meanwhile, the state’s death toll stands at 10,500.
CM Shivraj inspects hospitals in Bhopal
In view of the increasing Covid cases in the state, CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan visited the hospitals in Bhopal and took stock of the arrangements of the hospitals.
Earlier yesterday, the CM had also called an emergency meeting to discuss the present situation of Corona in the state. He has instructed the ministers and officers to ensure the supply of oxygen, beds and medicines.
Indore worst-hit
Indore on Thursday reported 55 new Covid cases, the highest in over six months. Meanwhile, there were 221 active cases in the city.
The figures of increasing daily infection of Indore and Bhopal, which are the biggest hotspots of Corona, are frightening.
All 10 cases of Omicron are from Indore and the situation in the city has started deteriorating again. Similarly, in Bhopal, the cases have increased three times since last week.
In Bhopal, 16 new cases have been reported in just 24 hours. About 22 MP districts out of 52 have already been hit by the Covid-infection.
