As India is witnessing a rise in Omicron cases, the Maharashtra education minister, Varsha Gaikwad, has said that the state government is monitoring the covid situation and if the situation worsens, then the government may order to shutdown the schools once again.
“If Omicron cases continue to rise, we may take a call to shut the schools again.
We are monitoring the situation,” School Education minister Prof. Varsha Eknath Gaikwad said, as reported by ANI.
However, even if the government shuts the schools, online classes will continue without any disturbance in the schedule.
On December 1, schools were fully reopened for all the students.And, in Mumbai, schools reopened on December 15. So far, Maharashtra has 54 Omicron Covid-19 cases, as per several reports.
