Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election to be held early next year, former Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj PartyMLA Kalicharan joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Lucknow on Sunday.
Additionally, Babban Rajbhar, the national president of the Maharaja Suheldev Sena, also joined the BJP on Sunday. He joined the party along with the workers and leaders of his party.
The new inductions on Sunday took place in the presence of Uttar Pradesh cabinet ministers Brajesh Pathak and Anil Rajbhar. Laxmikant Bajpai, chairman of the joining committee, and BJP leader Dayashankar Singh were also present.
UTTAR PRADESH ELECTION
The Uttar Pradesh Assembly election is likely to be held in February and March 2022. Most parties already seem to have their eye on the prize, with Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi launching a woman-centric campaign while Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Jayant Chaudhary hold rallies together.
Meanwhile, PM Modi of the BJP has inaugurated a slew of development programmes in the state in the recent past.
