Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh

In the last one week (April 19 to 26), the number of new infections have grown by an average of 1.8% every day in the state. However, the bigger worry is high load of active cases. State’s active case ratio is 14.4 per cent and the number of active cases has already crossed 50,000-mark.
The trend indicates that the current wave will continue for a few more weeks and may get even worsen in the days to come.
The situation is such that in the first 26 days of the month, the state reported 1.05 lakh cases and there are over 1,662 deaths. The state recorded between 6,000 and 7,000 cases and around 70 deaths everyday in the past one week. — TNS
